frequently asked questions

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup, it is a method used to create super realistic hair stroke brows. This treatment involves using a disposable hand-tool to create super-fine strokes into the upper layers of skin along the brow line, mimicking your natural eyebrow hairs.

During the treatment the hand tool which uses super fine needles, deposits pigment within the upper dermis layer of the skin to create the illusion of fuller brows with more definition.

As each ‘hair stroke’ is hand bladed on, we will match the look of your own hair colour and texture so the results are very natural, making the Microblading indistinguishable from your real eyebrow hair. This is why Microblading is a very popular, low-to-no-maintenance choice for all, especially clients with patchy, pale, or thin eyebrows.

Microblading is perfect for you if you’re wanting to enhance the look of your eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of natural hair present.

With very few exceptions, anybody can get their eyebrows microbladed to transform their brows. Whether your issue is misshapen brows, lack of time, fine hair or even no eyebrow hair at all, microblading will benefit you if:

  • You have a history of overplucking or naturally sparse/thin eyebrow hair
  • You desire to achieve your dream brows by adding definition, fullness and enhancing the overall shape
  • You’ve tried all the pencils, creams, gels, pomades and powders – enough is enough, you want a permanent fix
  • You don’t have the time or a steady hand to draw on your brows and you desire perfectly applied makeup
  • You’ve suffered hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia or other conditions/medication
  • You have impaired vision
  • You’re a regular gym/exercise bunny and you want to stop worrying about your eyebrows sweating off!
  • You want to wake up everyday with the perfect eyebrows!

To commence this treatment, clients are required to undergo a thorough consultation with a trained professional, we will then perform a ‘scratch test’ where we make a small scratch behind your ear and apply some pigment to ensure you do not suffer any form of allergic reactions. The consultation will allow us to understand your desired eyebrow shape, colour and style. During the consultation we will also require you to disclose any existing medical conditions so that we can ensure you’re safe to undergo this cosmetic treatment. We will then choose a pigment colour which will blend in beautifully with your natural eyebrow shade, if you prefer a lighter or darker brow, we can tailor the pigment choice to your requests.

Prior to the Microblading treatment, we will thread your eyebrows to tidy them and to remove any unwanted hairs. This then allows us to map out and draw an eyebrow shape that will compliment your face shape and complexion.

Once you are 100% satisfised with everything we have discussed, the colour and shape of your new brows, each brow will be worked on, stroke by stroke, to create exquisite, new brows.

For a short time after your initial treatment, the colour of your new brows will appear up to 50% darker than the final healed look. This is to be expected and a completely normal part of the healing process. After 4-6 weeks the skin will settle and the pigment will have faded considerably, leaving you with a natural appearance. Once your eyebrows have healed after your initial appointment there may be some hair strokes which appear slightly uneven. This is why you have a ‘touch up’ treatment, the purpose of this second appointment is to perfect your brows, as it is normal for some loss or unevenness of the pigment deposited in the hair strokes during the first appointment. Once healed following the touch up procedure, your brows will be complete! Smudge free, perfect brows!

Microblading is a two-part process and you will be required to undergo two appointments to achieve your dream brows, the initial appointment and the ‘touch up’ appointment. Your ‘touch up’ appointment will commence 4-6 weeks after your initial appointment. The purpose of this second appointment is to perfect your brows, as it is normal for some loss or unevenness of the pigment deposited in the hair strokes during the first appointment. Once healed following the touch up procedure, your brows will be complete! Smudge free, perfect brows!

The full Microblading process, including healing time, will take approximately 6-8 weeks.

Prior to your Microblading treatment you will be given a pot of topical anaesthetic cream which you will be instructed to apply over the eyebrow area before the blading commences. During the treatment we use a secondary topical anaesthetic gel which allows us to numb the area further so we can ensure you are feeling comfortable throughout the Microblading treatment. You may experience some mild discomfort or you may not feel anything at all – clients have been known to have a snooze!
